Usenet Access Change
During the last decade dotsrc.org has provided the world with a free usenet server. About a year and a half ago, we decided to take in more hierarchies on request from the increasing number of users.
Along with the users came the abusers - unfortunately - and today the number of abuse complaints have reached a level where we have to react.
Dotsrc.org is a non-commercial organisation with the primary goal of serving the Open Source community with specialised hosting facilities. Dotsrc.org is driven by a group of volunteers, and we do not have the resources required to deal with the increasing number of abuse complaints.
Therefore, starting October 15th, 2005 the number of usenet groups will be reduced in order to make the main focus of the usenet service consistent with our remaining policy and focus.
Access will be given according to the following scheme:
- Registered email AND connecting from Danish IP
- Access to all public groups
- Registered email
- Access to dk.* hierarchy and Open Source related groups.
See our detailed list of Open Source related hierarchies that we currently serve.
