Services and features offered
dotsrc.org offers several services for both hosted projects, but also for the common public world. Underneath here are some explaination of the different services and how to use them.
Web space
dotsrc.org offers web space for any hosted project that needs it. Take a look at the Project WWW guide for information on what services are available for the project's individual webpages.
FTP space
dotsrc.org offers FTP space for all projects as well as mirrors. Project owners should check the Project FTP guide for information on howto use this service. Public FTP access is also available both to projects and mirrors, please check the Public FTP guide.
Mirrors
At dotsrc.org we offer many different mirrors, please check the Mirror Team's homepage for information on available mirrors and our mirror policy.
Rsync
As an effective alternative to FTP you are given the possibility of downloading from the FTP area using Rsync instead. All hosted projects are accessible via rsync://sunsite.dk/projects/<projectname>.
$ rsync rsync://sunsite.dk/projects/ will give you a list.
IRC
We are currently running an IRC server on dotsrc.org. Please check IRC team's homepage.
CVS Repository
dotsrc.org offers public read-only access to projects and a read-write access for projects to their own CVS repositories.

Databases
Projects are given the possibities of using MySQL. You can administrate your MySQL database via phpMyAdmin
Mailing Lists
As a Project owner you can get some mailing list setup for you, please check the Project owner's maillist guide for further information. If you wan't to subscribe to public maillists or just find more information please check the Public maillist guide.
Usenet
dotsrc.org is running a newsserver which is public accessible (with some restrictions). Information about our newsserver is also available. On this page you can also find information on how to get access to our news server.
Mail filtering
dotsrc.org is using a rather aggressive mail filtering policy on the mailing lists in order to keep the amount of spam to an absolute minimum. For more information please check the Mailfilter guide.
Backup
All projects are backed up on tape every night and kept for a couple of months and then the tape is recycled. Please check the Backup guide.
Statistics
We are gathering many different statistics about both the overall performance of dotsrc.org as well as the amount of net traffic, mirror usage etc. Please visit the Statistics page to view our statistics.
