Mailinglist Usage
The mailing list software provide a set of commands that the list users can use to
- manage their subscription to the list
- retrieve messages
First Time Subscribers
Let us assume that you want to subscribe to a mailing list called example@dotsrc.org.
The first thing you should do is to send an email to the following address: example-subscribe@dotsrc.org. Shortly after you will receive an confirmation request email which you should simply reply to. You should know be subscribed to example@dotsrc.org.
The next you should do is to send an email to example-help@dotsrc.org. This will return an email from Ezmlm with the administrative commands available to you for the example@dotsrc.org mailing list. Some of these will be briefly touched below.
Bounce Handling
If mail to you starts to bounce (if your internet provider is down for some time, the network is unreachable or other problems), then ezmlm will keep track of the messages you missed from the list, and after some time, you will receive a mail describing how to fetch the missed messages from the archive. If mail to you bounces for more than 20 days, you will be removed from the list.
