Introduction to setting up and managing a project website at dotsrc.org This article describers the different server-side technologies that are available.

The article also describes where files can be placed, how to reference to them and how they can be made inaccessible (useful for configuration files).

Version Control

Dotsrc.org give project owners access to a version control repository based on either CVS or SVN (Subversion). This article describes how project members can get access to the repository and how users can use anonymous access (if project is configured to allow this) to download development versions of the project.

Mailing Lists 1 - Administration

Project owners can ask the staff group to make a mailing list moderated to only allow certain people to post messages to it. Further the list can be closed so subscription has to be approved prior to being accepted on the list.

Finally the project owners can manipulate the messages sent out by the mailing list software when people subscribe, unsubscribe etc.
