We are pleased to announce the launch of our new hosting concept, dotsrc.org. With dotsrc.org, the staff behind the popular open source hosting service sunsite.dk is reaffirming their commitment to provide a free and specialised hosting solution for serious open source projects. With support from sponsors, supporters and partners, dotsrc.org aims to provide hosting for more projects and increase the number of services offered.
About dotsrc.org / SunSITE.dk
Dotsrc.org is a non-profit organisation founded in 1995 as part of Sun Microsystems' SunSITE program (Sun Software, Information & Technology Exchange), in cooperation with Aalborg University, the Danish Research Network and students from the university. Originally providing hosting for community projects in general, the organization now focuses on hosting and mirroring services for the Open Source community.
Other services provided:
- Free public newsserver provided in collaboration with Aalborg University
- Access to an Itanium 2 development server in a joint project between HP Denmark and dotsrc.org
- Mirroring of open source software. Most noticeably dotsrc.org is primary mirror of both MySQL and XEmacs
- One of two Danish IRCNet servers
